The short answer
You've planned the wedding. A day-of coordinator makes sure it happens the way you planned it — while you're busy getting married.
What that looks like in practice
Our day-of coordination actually starts about 60 days out, not the morning of. We meet up to three times to walk through your plan, tour the venue, and confirm every detail with every vendor you've booked. Then we build the timeline — the real one, with delivery windows and photo blocks and when grandma needs to be seated.
On the day itself, for up to 12 hours, we are the point person for family, guests, and vendors. We coordinate ceremony and reception setup, place the guest book and the favors, pin boutonnières, direct the processional, keep the timeline moving, distribute final payments and gratuities, and troubleshoot the things you'll never hear about until we laugh about them later. There's an assistant with us all day, and an emergency kit in the van.

When day-of is the wrong choice
Honestly: if you haven't booked vendors yet, don't have a solid budget, and feel overwhelmed about where to start, day-of coordination alone will not fix that. That's what partial planning (you keep your vendors, we take over design and the rest) and full planning (we hold your hand from the first call) are for. One thing couples always underestimate
You cannot be the point of contact at your own wedding. Someone will ask where the cake knife is during your vows. The single biggest thing a coordinator buys you isn't logistics — it's the ability to be a guest at your own wedding.
